WebIt's called Iron Lung, because like the machine you mentioned, the person inside it will die inside it. A polio patient who needs an iron lung to breath will never leave it. They will die in that machine. The player is never going to leave that sub. Even if you weren't killed by the monster in the end, the submarine was never going to be recovered.
